Storia 6: Nov 2 - 6, 2023

A new location for the sixth edition: a fairytale palace with a storied history in the mountains west of Lisbon, Portugal.

A delightful group that was simultaneously wise and dedicated, yet joyous and lighthearted! As always, there was much laughter, a few tears, and several sobering reality checks about what writing and selling a book entails in this moment in time. Two special guests joined us to offer important perspectives on the iterative creation process and the task of promotion.

Topics included: a feminist history of money, fixes for capitalism, art’s role in organizations, hope for changemakers, reform of food systems, black doulas, witchcraft for leadership, the addiction economy, and how to nourish creators.

“I appreciated the dance between structure and space—lovely use of a tight structure and detailed knowledge to create a guided boundary for exploring.”

“Having a published author—and Storia alum!—as a guest sharing his experience of publishing and promoting was invaluable. Empowering.”

“So much more than I thought it would be.”

“I was humbled and grateful to be surrounded by wisdom and guidance. Ariane is gifted. Loved her overall approach and compassionate support. Loved Asmaa, Scott and Marcelina: all so warm and wonderful. I look forward to the journey ahead.”

“The distance traveled in those five short days was surreal. But also very grounding. You gave me so many new tools and sparked so many new ideas, I almost couldn't get my suitcase closed. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience with us, and for bringing us together.”
