A LEGENDARY COHORT
We packed each day with learning and sober shouldering of the work to be done. But we also laughed ourselves silly. We woke to an overachieving rooster’s cries. We ate very well indeed, and one of us licked every plate clean. We had a fireside chat with a past Storia graduate who shared the unvarnished truth about publishing and promotion.
Topics included: shareholder activism, teenage motherhood, freedom dreaming, spaceship earth, lessons from Iran, the politics of trees, deepfakes, community organizing, shaping tech
Selected Praise:
“Despite my topic being heavy, I felt completely safe and understood in your hands. I appreciated how you took me seriously and also did not shy away from giving me pointers. You are a master at your craft and give relevant, timely direction. You changed my perspective on many things... which is not easy to do!”
“I cannot tell you how helpful it was to hear your rendition of a certain male client’s secrets to success. I think many women look at men and think 'how the fuck does he make that happen'. You were like Dorothy giving us the gift of seeing the Wizard of Oz. It didn't diminish him but it was a challenge to us to say that's what it take; it's there for the taking. Not to be so self-effacing etc.”
“Storia was a great thing for me. It has helped me to believe that I have a story to share. At a time when I’m contemplating where to place my attention and focus. It was helpful to understand the challenge and commitment that it will take to birth a book.”
“My suite was lovely. I felt like I was in a movie. Storia gave me a great reason to visit Portugal, to gift myself the privilege of focusing on my stories and ideas.”
